Eco Village Slatkovac was founded at a more than two centuries old fireplace of Knezevic family ancestors. The hamlet, which was abandoned two decades ago by the Kavrics, is now a tourist and cultural center, open year round for many guests. Besides its rich history, the village is specific for its beautiful environment and untouched nature. Pure mountain water, medical field and forest herbs, fresh mountain air, healthy domestic food and charms of domestic beverage will make this unique place stay deep in the memory of every visitor.

Eco Village is located in the northwestern part of Aleksandrovac municipality. The village is situated 220 km from Belgrade, at the foot of the mountains Kopaonik, Goc and Željin at an altitude of 430 meters.

Village Slatkovac consists of four houses, a stable and a barn. The oldest house, the red one, was the courtroom till the beginning of the 20th century when it became a private property. This house is about 200 years old. Other houses were built at the beginning of the last century. All the houses were made of mud, straw and timber. The hamlet survived both World Wars and has a very long and interesting historical story. This part of the village was inhabited by Kavric family. The villagers were very respected and well-known winemakers, farmers, craftsmen and artists.

The room that was a daily prison of the Zupa region two centuries ago, then a wine cellar for the next 100 years, is an ethno restaurant today. The ethno village restaurant is just for the guests of the village.
